Our latest trip to visit our fostered children in Ghana was from October 16, 2011 to October 26, 2011.   It was wonderful to see how well the children were doing!  We visited them at home and at school and were so pleased to know that through the generous support of our foster families here in Canada, these impoverished children are able to be nourished and attend school.  During our time in Agona Swedru, Ghana, we were able to construct 80 desks for a school we helped to sponsor in addition to 4 large tables and chairs for the younger children.  These desks were sponsored through the generosity of many families and individuals in response to a campaign spearheaded by the Smart family.  Wellesley Public School students blessed this school of more than 80 children with an abundance of school supplies that were desperately needed and greatly appreciated by the teaching staff and the students.  Soccer balls were also generously donated for us to take with us and were a big hit with the children and several schools who were lacking even such a basic piece of sports equipment.

It is our hope that we can continue to make a difference in the lives of the precious children of these very poor areas of Ghana.  With the support of our Canadian friends, children can be blessed and given a future and a hope!
